DARREN CURTIS

   Darren is a graduate of the Communications Program at Concordia University. Since then he has co-founded the comedy collective Kidnapper Films, producing over 20 short films which have played extensively at film festivals in Canada and the United States. In 2005, the group produced and performed a sold-out show at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival.

 

   In 2006, Darren co-wrote and co-directed “Who is KK Downey?” An independent comedy feature which has played over 15 international film festivals including Raindance, BUFF, Austin, Oldenburg, Whistler and has won numerous awards. The same year Darren also founded his photo and video production company ‘Actaeon Photo’ specializing in fashion and beauty. His clients include L’Oréal Professionnel / Paris, Redken, YSL, Valmont, Kérastase, Armani Fragrance, Vichy and Declor.  

 

   In 2017 he wrote and directed the feature-length film “BOOST” - a Montreal set dramatic crime-thriller. The film has played numerous festivals including Shanghai, FNC, Austin and was nominated for 5 Canadian Screen Awards (won Best Lead Actor) and 8 Prix Iris. Darren currently has various film and television projects in active development.
